Z-Wave is the international wireless protocol for communication in the Smart Home. This device is suited for use in the region mentioned in the Quickstart section.
Z-Wave ensures a reliable communication by reconfirming every message (two-way communication) and every mains powered node can act as a repeater for other nodes (meshed network) in case the receiver is not in direct wireless range of the transmitter.
This device and every other certified Z-Wave device can be used together with any other certified Z-Wave device regardless of brand and origin as long as both are suited for the same frequency range.
If a device supports secure communication it will communicate with other devices secure as long as this device provides the same or a higher level of security. Otherwise it will automatically turn into a lower level of security to maintain backward compatibility.

With the TESLA Smart Home Smart Switch Zigbee, you can easily set a schedule for turning lights on and off in your home. Or connect it to a motion sensor, for example, and when you walk out the door, it automatically turns the lights off for you.
Simple App.
You can set up and manage everything in a smart app on your phone. It is compatible with Android and iOS devices.
Voice Control.
You can also control the switch with your voice. The smart personal assistants Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa can help you with this.
Great Range.
The system uses the ZigBee protocol to provide coverage up to 50 m. Such a long range should ensure that every part of your house is in reach of the entire system.
Stable Zigbee connection.
ZigBee wireless technology works in a similar way to Wi-Fi. Even if you connect several smart assistants to ZigBee, the signal is stable and the connection is not interrupted. The TESLA Smart Switch ZigBee is also a signal booster, so you can extend the range of your network. Together with the TESLA Smart ZigBee Hub access gateway, it ensures a strong signal throughout your home.
Convenient control from one place.
In addition to the switch, you can control and connect all your connected smart devices via ZigBee. The TESLA Smart app is the way to do it. It"s available for free in English language for both iOS and Android. The switch is also compatible with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
No neutral needed.
The TESLA Smart Switch ZigBee doesn"t need a neutral wire to connect, so you have one less cable when installing it.
Zigbee protocol.
The product belongs to a group that uses the ZigBee protocol by which the products communicate with each other. For the proper functioning of these products, it is necessary to have the TESLA Smart ZigBee Hub central unit as part of the smart home. This creates a common network for these products and allows them to interact with each other. For example, if the humidity sensor detects an increased value, it will automatically notify the dehumidifier via the TESLA Smart ZigBee Hub, which will start.
Get smart lighting with the TESLA switch.
You can choose from a standard one-button version or the two-button TESLA Smart Switch Dual ZigBee, to which you connect two circuits of lights, which you then control separately.
Features:
Please read the user manual before installing the product.
In order to include (add) a Z-Wave device to a network it must be in factory default state. Please make sure to reset the device into factory default. You can do this by performing an Exclusion operation as described below in the manual. Every Z-Wave controller is able to perform this operation however it is recommended to use the primary controller of the previous network to make sure the very device is excluded properly from this network.
ATTENTION: only authorized technicians under consideration of the country-specific installation guidelines/norms may do works with mains power. Prior to the assembly of the product, the voltage network has to be switched off and ensured against re-switching.
On factory default the device does not belong to any Z-Wave network. The device needs to be added to an existing wireless network to communicate with the devices of this network. This process is called Inclusion.
Devices can also be removed from a network. This process is called Exclusion. Both processes are initiated by the primary controller of the Z-Wave network. This controller is turned into exclusion respective inclusion mode. Inclusion and Exclusion is then performed doing a special manual action right on the device.
Here are a few hints for network installation if things dont work as expected.
