Z-Wave is the international wireless protocol for communication in the Smart Home. This device is suited for use in the region mentioned in the Quickstart section.
Z-Wave ensures a reliable communication by reconfirming every message (two-way communication) and every mains powered node can act as a repeater for other nodes (meshed network) in case the receiver is not in direct wireless range of the transmitter.
This device and every other certified Z-Wave device can be used together with any other certified Z-Wave device regardless of brand and origin as long as both are suited for the same frequency range.
If a device supports secure communication it will communicate with other devices secure as long as this device provides the same or a higher level of security. Otherwise it will automatically turn into a lower level of security to maintain backward compatibility.

Reinvent your space.
The Aqara Presence Sensor FP2 uses state-of-the-art millimeter wave radar technology that can accurately detect the presence of people even with slight movements. This technology ensures the continuity and stability of the smart device. It also has the zone positioning function, which allows it to automate different conditions in different zones, such as beds and tables. A room can now be divided into up to 30 small zones and detect up to five targets (multi-person detection). It can also control other smart home devices through ecosystems such as Apple Home for broader application. It offers features like fall detection and a built-in light sensor. Likewise, it is a great a great helper that can really combine the diversity of the user"s home life and automate different personalities. Selling points: (Selling points are ordered by their priorities).
Zone positioning.
It offers significant advantages over conventional PIR infrared motion sensors, a single radar sensor is required to monitor rooms up to about 40 m². Moreover, you can divide it into up to 30 zones, e.g. sofa, bed or desk. In addition, you can set up individual automation for each zone.
Multi-person detection
Up to 5 target persons can be detected simultaneously. The result is that the sensor not only divides the space, but also automatically responds to the position of different people without interfering with each other.
Ultra-high precision
Privacy and detection accuracy are considered. It is able to detect non-inductive signal detection without collecting real images. Images. Automation can generally be done locally. Millimeter wave radar technology is more stable than detection with infrared sensors, even when sitting or sleeping.
Control other devices via HomeKit, etc.
The FP2 as a multiple sensor in HomeKit (and Home Assistant), Alexa and Google Home. You can easily integrate the sensor without needing a hub, which is obviously the best solution for smart home enthusiasts to expand their smart home setup.
Fall detection and alarms
If someone falls in a room, the FP2 can detect this and notify you. The range is a circle with a radius of 2 meters, and the accuracy of fall detection is >98%. The recommended installation height is 2.5 m - 2.8 m.
Built-in light sensor
Fully functional light detection sensor in Aqara ecosystem. With it, lighting automation becomes much more flexible and convenient. The built-in light sensor also enables advanced home automation.
IPX5 and hidden USB-C® port
Due to its IP rating, the sensor can also be installed in humid environments such as bathrooms. The sensor has an open USB-C® connector that allows you to swap out the included cable for any USB-C compatible cable for placement flexibility.
Features:
Please read the user manual before installing the product.
In order to include (add) a Z-Wave device to a network it must be in factory default state. Please make sure to reset the device into factory default. You can do this by performing an Exclusion operation as described below in the manual. Every Z-Wave controller is able to perform this operation however it is recommended to use the primary controller of the previous network to make sure the very device is excluded properly from this network.
ATTENTION: only authorized technicians under consideration of the country-specific installation guidelines/norms may do works with mains power. Prior to the assembly of the product, the voltage network has to be switched off and ensured against re-switching.
On factory default the device does not belong to any Z-Wave network. The device needs to be added to an existing wireless network to communicate with the devices of this network. This process is called Inclusion.
Devices can also be removed from a network. This process is called Exclusion. Both processes are initiated by the primary controller of the Z-Wave network. This controller is turned into exclusion respective inclusion mode. Inclusion and Exclusion is then performed doing a special manual action right on the device.
Here are a few hints for network installation if things dont work as expected.
